I am sad to say this is my last blog for this unit. I have to say that before I started this unit I knew nothing about computers, and now I often amaze myself with what I can do. This unit has taught me how to find different technologies to use for many years to come and I am so glad I enrolled in this unit. So thanks to Jenny for spending the time to teach me these things, I have really enjoyed myself and intend on continuing my love for computers now. Today Jan also mentioned about the other technology units we can do in the future (EDN 205, EDN 617) and I feel I would really love to give them a go as well. However I must admit I am a bit nervous about the exam coming up.

Today in my tutorial class Jenny showed me how to use a site called flickr, which is used for putting images onto our wiki. I did not even realise that by using google images it is classed as copyright. I have now told my daughter about this site now, as she always uses google images

I am now very frustrated as I have finished the presentation and trying to upload it to our wiki, but the wiki won't allow me to edit anything and I don't know why. I have posted a message on the discussion board and sent Jenny an email but still waiting for a reply. I have also txt Tania and Gillian but they must be busy. Really want to get this finished as I have an essay to get started.

Powerpoint presentation

I have been very busy this week working on our groups power point presentation. I firstly had to reasearch how to do a powerpoint as I have never done one before, but it gave very clear instructions. it was great. At least now I can use power point in the future. I have spent many hours construction our presentation and I am very pleased with the result. I will show the girls tomorrow and see what they think, hopefully they will like it !

Goodbye teacher

In the lecture today the topic was goodbye teacher, it talked about moving teachers into the 21st century and changing the way they teach kids. it showed us the teaching machine that replaced teachers in the classroom. Fred Keller wrote an article about how teachers were no longer needed in the classroom. The lecture also talked about mobile learning where students could use their mobile phone for learning such as video, speaker, designs and digital stories, and perhaps in the future this may be possible. This has made me really think what sort of teacher I want to be. They also gave us an interesting website which I am looking forward to having a look at it's called funky school by Greg Whitby.

My group and I have started our wiki it's called solar planets. I have been nominated to do the powerpoint so I have been reasearching how to do it. I downloaded microsoft office powerpoin t and have done alot of reading on how to do the slides for the powerpoint presentation. I am now really excited to get started.

I have had a hard day today as I have been studying all day and now I am ready for bed. During today I have been reasearching information for my assignment 3 and have found lots. However not really sure how the wiki works yet and how to put my info on for my group to see. Will have to look further into this tomorrow, hopefully the companion website has links to show me this, as it has been mighty helpful in the past.

Met with my group for assignment 3 this week. We have decided our topic is going to be space. However I am getting very frustrated as my wikispaces is not working and I can't get on to it until Dani emails me. So I am anxiously waiting, so I can contribute with my group.

Had a really hard day today trying to work out how to attach my assignment 2 onto my webite. Thankfully a really nice lady Valerie on the LMS discussions gave me some great advice, so a big thankyou to you Valerie. I have finished and attached my assignment 2 and this is what it looks like, hopefully I have done it correctly.

I have been working on my assignment 2 and found many interesting findings including this one on youtube
using ipads in the classroom. I have discovered many technologies that I never knew about before, and also ways in which teachers program these technologies into their classroom. So it has been a great week!
